CAP Site FAQ:

What is a C@P Site?

The Community Access Program (CAP) is a Government of Canada initiative, administered by Industry Canada, which aims to provide Canadians with public access to the Internet and the skills they need to use it effectively.

CAP Sites provide internet service, computer support and training in computer programs.

CAP Sites are located in many cities, towns and communities across Canada. Many CAP sites are located in schools, community centers, or libraries, but they may be found in any public place.

What can the Upper Stewiacke C@P Site do for me?

Anytime the Diner is open, you can use the C@P Site to gain internet access.

You can use our computer to type up a resume, print off a document, check your email, surf the web, use instant messenger... anything you need!

We have a CD burner, fax, copier, printer and scanner for the public to use.

We also have a fax machine.

If you have any questions, or need assistance feel free to ask the cap advisor for help!

One-on-one session are available, for help with computer and internet use, design and development of flyers, business cards, email, posters and much more! To inquire contact Laura at 671-1910.

What does it cost to use the C@P Site?

Internet access and the use of computer programs is FREE, but please be kind and donate what you can to support our C@P. As one of the last sites to be set up in NS we do not benefit from full government funding. When you use this site please pay what you can so we can keep this C@P in our community. Be sure to thank Bev and her staff for the use of her space for FREE! We keep a detailed record of all funding from government as well as any donations you may provide. If you wish to enquire about this please ask the diner staff and they will direct you to the proper persons who will gladly show you a printout of our expenses and donations collected.

There is a small cost for printing documents and using blank CDs and floppy discs:

Printing:

Photographs (black or color): $2.50 ea.
Black & white: $0.25 per page
Colour: $0.35 per page

Other Items:

Blank CD: $3.00 ea.
